Pastor Scott Willis was my 5th & 6th grade teacher at Dawes Elementary school in the southSide of chicago. Till this day i have not met a more positive friendly person. When the tragedy happened all the students were in shock. It seems like yesterday when my best friend at the time Edwin Veteri who was one of the coolest kids in my life started crying out of genuine care for our favorite teacher we ever had. I tried contacting Mr. Willis when i was in high school but he wasnt around. Im sure he suffered from post tramautic stress and u cant blame the guy. Even though im muslim him and i share the same God and i till this day whenever his situation crosses my mind i always make a prayer for him and his wife to have patience. God will never forget the pain and suffering they went thru and he will for sure be in heaven with his children in the hearafter.

Thank you Chris for sharing this powerful example of true forgiveness!

The power of the Willis family to forgive in such painful circumstances is a clear example of the ever-present power of God! When by the strength of God, someone is able to forgive the incomprehensible pain caused by another, we get a glimpse of the mercy and forgiveness of God himself for sinners. It shines a light from heaven upon a dark earth!

May God bless this family for their faith and for showing that God's power is sufficient to meet all of our needs.

The Willis's are such rock solid examples for living out true forgiveness! We need to pray for them... I am sure they are under spiritual attack. And I think John Kass did a great job with that article. Check out the 118 responses (and climbing) to his article for some really sad perspectives on forgiveness. Maybe a few will be pointed to biblical forgiveness through the mention of your book. Wouldn't that be cool?
