Take a NEW Forgiveness Quiz and Win a Book or a Flip Video Recorder

clip_image002It is the one year anniversary for Unpacking Forgiveness: Biblical Answers for Complex Questions and Deep Wounds and I am asking for your interaction in A New Forgiveness Quiz.

Brief answers will be immediately available. But, on six consecutive Friday’s from October 30 through December 4 I will post on two of the questions each week offering more in depth answers.

As extra incentive, if you subscribe to my blog by RSS feeds or through email (see subscribe by email on the upper right of sidebar of my blog) during the six weeks of the forgiveness quiz, then you will be eligible to win one of 12 copies of my book or a Flip Video recorder. (I gave one to my wife after reading Justin Taylor’s recommendation and we have really enjoyed it.

Two copies of my book will be given away each Friday and I will announce the winner of the Flip Camera on December 4.

Further, if you link to this post from your blog or web site, between now and December 4th, your name will be entered five times in the drawing, thereby putting you at a statistical advantage in the random, albeit providential, drawing. Just email me your link (cdbrauns at gmail.com), and I’ll enter you in the drawing 5 times.

For my self-interested family members, yes, with the exception of my wife and children, you are eligible to win, though I reserve the right to count your win as a Christmas present.

I will announce the winner of the Flip Recorder on December 11. Provided you don’t live in some remote place like Keosauqua, IA, you should have it in time for Christmas.

  1. Dr. Brauns,

I first would like to say that I thank God for your book and wish to congratulate you in its anniversary. The real reason I am writing however is that I am a student of Northwestern College in St. Paul MN. If you have not heard our school has been going through a terrible ordeal in regards to our school’s leadership, particularly from the President and the Head of the Board. The reason this is of any interest to you is that at the heart of all of this fiasco is a faulty understanding of forgiveness and now more so, repentance and what it requires. I am a biblical studies major and have published an article in the school paper and am quite vocal on this being a crucial issue. Our President as well as others in leadership have openly preached unconditional forgiveness. I know this issue to be Gospel central and I am quite frankly fearful for my school as well as the leadership.

I wanted to let you know as I have enjoyed your book as it was recommended to me last year by one of my professors whom I TA for. Maybe at the least our story can be one for future bodies, particularly Christian Colleges to learn from and stray away from.

  2. Ryan,

Nice to hear from you. This Fall when I was speaking at Camp Forest Springs, I met a former student from Northwestern who also shared some of his concerns. I am sorry to hear that you are going through such a tough time. But, I am thankful to hear that Unpacking was an encouragement to you.

    Chris.
